We will be playing one-on-one, doubles matches, and tournaments throughout the semester to improve our skills. Everyone will get a chance to play! Ultimately, a ping-pong championship tournament will decide if anyone has the skills to defeat Mr. Krieger.
Track and Field
Want a trophy or a gold medal. Join track and field. Students will prepare for the Beijing Normal University Sports Meet. Maybe we can do better than last year. As a reward, after competing in the Sports Meet you will have the chance to join another activity of your choice or stay in the track and field activity. Members of the soccer team will be able to do both Track and Field and Soccer.
Street Hockey (20)
Try something new, Ice hockey on the street. Never used a hockey stick before. Never shot tennis balls before. Come and try. We will play 5 on 5 games and have tournaments. It is fun and does not require a lot of work. Ask Mr. K if you have questions or want to shoot tennis balls at him.
Camera Club (15)
Do you like to take photographs? Have you ever wanted to take really good photos? Join the Camera Club and learn how to make your photos even better! You will take pictures of your friends, learn how to take documentary and artistic pictures and get to see the world with a new perspective. Our photos will go into the yearbook too! This activity is for students who love taking pictures and are motivated to learn.
Detention
You don’t want this so don’t sign up for it.
Basketball (40)
Think you can dunk on Mr. Heeren. Then sign-up for basketball. There will be full-court games, small games, tournaments etc. You will have the chance to play in the school’s new gym and on the outdoor basketball court. Come and have fun. All are welcome.

Do you have a green thumb? Join Ms. Yee's gardening club and we can plant flowers and vegetables. Get our vegetable garden ready for planting in the spring. Learn about growing plants. Learn about garden styles from around the world. Grow your own plants!
Yearbook (15)
Help create everyone’s lasting memory of SPAS. You will have the chance to take pictures and design the yearbook. You will also be able to learn some new computer skills. This is a great activity to put on your college application. Colleges look for this type of participation.
Newsletter (15)
Do you have school spirit? Get involved in the exciting world of journalism and be a part of informing the school of our accomplishments and upcoming events! Promote school spirit and produce a fun and informative newsletter for school staff, students, and parents, while getting exposure to interviewing, writing, editing, and creative media. See Ms. Larson if you have any questions. This is also a great activity to put on a college application.
Book Club (15)
Sit back, relax, drink hot tea and chat about your favorite book with a group of friends. If you like to read, you have to join the bookclub! All you need is an open mind and a love for literature. We can't wait to see you there!
