Right
now I am at one of the famous places in the world The Forbidden City. The place
is divided into two: Outer Court and Inner Court. I am at the Outer Court which
consists of three grand halls located in a terrace. In front of the halls there
is a courtyard and the gate to the Outer Court. The Gate of Supreme Harmony is
the main gate of the Outer Court. The fate is guarded by a couple of bronze
lions which aimed to show imperial dignity. The male lion has a ball under his
paw which symbolizes dignity and the female lion has a lion cub under her paw.
The Forbidden City is the best preserved imperial palace in China. It is the largest ancient structure in the world. The whole structure includes 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8704 rooms. The main function of the Outer Court was to hold delegations.
